I'm Ric...Welcome to Downland Graphics...
2011 has got off to a great start with Averil Davies joining me at DG to add a new dimension to the work. We both find that having two cartoonists in the team gives opportunities to bounce ideas off each other.
(I ALSO LOVE TO DO THE OCCASIONAL BIT OF WOOD CARVING FOR RELAXATION. THIS BARN OWL IN WILLOW HAS BEEN ON THE BENCH FOR QUITE A WHILE NOW. IT SOULD BE READY TO FLY SOON)
Click on the photo below to to see Averil's portfolio of cartoons and fine art - which is being added to constantly....
This one is the first cartoon in an aliens series I am working on at the moment called 'Visiting Time'
CAPTION: 'If you're here about them crop circles, it was Barry up at Oak Farm did 'em.'
Many of my cartoons involve wildlife and wilderness themes in some form or another. I was lucky enough to work for many years as a high ground and lowland gamekeeper in Cumbria and also Kent; work that is always going on in the background and which shapes the woodlands and countryside we know so well. So many of my countryside cartoons are a twist on rural life, and often to the advantage of the wildlife!
